TEHRAN- As announced by the head of Iran’s Thermal Power Plant Holding (TPPH), the overhaul operation of the country’s thermal power plants has been started.
“Since mid-Shahrivar [the sixth Iranian calendar month beginning on August 22], the overhaul operations have begun on more than 109,000 megawatts capacity of thermal power plants throughout the country in order to increase the readiness of these units to produce sustainable electricity in the next year’s summer peak period,” Abdolrasoul Pishahang said.
Summer months constitute Iran’s peak demand periods, so most of the power plant overhaul programs are scheduled to take place during autumn, winter and spring seasons.
