TEHRAN – Iran’s ambassador to Tunisia recently held a meeting with the newly appointed foreign minister of Tunisia, Mohamed Ali Nafti, to explore areas of shared interest.
During the meeting, Mir-Masoud Hosseinian presented Nafti with a letter from his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, extending congratulations on Nafti’s new role as foreign minister.
The discussions also focused on enhancing political, economic, and cultural ties between Iran and Tunisia.
Hosseinian referenced a significant meeting between the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Tunisian President Kais Saied in Algeria, describing it as a pivotal moment for strengthening bilateral relations.
Over the years, Iran and Tunisia have developed a distinctive relationship marked by diplomatic engagement and a stance of neutrality. Both nations are part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Group of 77, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
